Soybean Breeding and Genetics; Research is focused on drought, flooding, and soybean cyst menatode resistance and value-added seed composition.
RESEARCH
Dr. Shannon’s research focuses on breeding for resistance to soybean cyst nematode, and other biotic as well as abiotic stresses. Breeding for improved protein and oil for enhanced nutritional value for farm animals and humans is also a goal of his program. He works closely with Dr. Sleper, others on campus, as well as at the Delta Center related to soybean production and improvement.
